The international act keeps it's distinctive and oppressive sound well rooted, yet “Of Loss and Grief” doesn't sound as a funeral-doom album per-se as their previous releases, but it bears the first wave sound of acts such as early My Dying Bride, Morbid Symphony, Decomposed and Evoken. Tracks such as “Life Stabbed Me Once Again” and “All I've Loved” (this latter one features female vocals from Soph Day of Alunah) exemplifies the band's lyrical approach: just as the musical context and words convey feelings of dismay and resignation, leading the listener through various stages of emotional distress. This despondent release features also guest appearances from musicians involved in Alunah, Mournful Congregation, Funeralium, Worship and My Shameful. No sun shines here, nor happiness or hope … just grey, insurmountable walls.
